SW1Gripping Heart is developing a software platform for advanced analyses of the heart. The software is based on the mechanical functions of the heart and is illustrated by simple diagrams. The program is using databases for benchmarking and validation within different patient categories. The program convert complex information concerning the heart and the circulatory system for easy and fast decision making. This also improves the possibilities of communications between different investigating modalities and between doctors and patients.

The software is based on the Dynamic Adaptive Piston Pump (DAPP)-technology which can be used in different applications to enhance diagnosis and therapy regarding the cardiovascular and circulatory system. Furthermore, it is possible to simulate and analyze the impact of medical and or surgical procedures concerning the heart and circulatory system.

The technology is based on mathematical and mechanical interrelationships of the heart. It can be visualized through a state diagram which simplifying the diagnostic procedure of the heart. The state diagram of the heart as a new visualization tool for cardiac time intervals, presenting comparative, normalized data of systolic and diastolic performance, providing a more complete overview of cardiac function.

The platform is based on a novel pump principle referred to as the Dynamic Adaptive Piston Pump-technology. With this pump principle and new definitions of the cardiac phases it is possible to visualize the hearts mechanical function as state diagrams.
